Something of a mecca for cyclists, walkers and water-sports enthusiasts, the landscapes awaiting you have to be seen to be believed! Leave the car behind and lose yourself in the fresh air! For the true adventurers, unbeatable skiing, climbing and mountain-biking can be found throughout the Park, while more relaxing pursuits including boat hire and golf can be found a stone’s throw away.

Nearby attractions including the Lakes Aquarium, with the UK's largest collection of freshwater fish, the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway, where you can enjoy a 3.5-mile steam locomotive trip into the Leven Valley and the delightful World of Beatrix Potter, where the fabulous animals of Beatrix Potter's tales are brought to life in three dimensions! All make for a great day out for all ages and can easily be combined for those short on time thanks to their proximity.

The Lake District is England's largest National Park, with more than 3100km of rights of way, you can walk, cycle and ride yourself silly through this enchanting valley as you marvel at some of the world’s best scenery! Adventure courses, boat hire, all kinds of water-sports and much more ensure you can take the Lakes at your own pace, be that racing down the mountains on a bike, fell-running up them or gliding through them on a Launch, the possibilities are endless!

Carlisle, Leeds and Newcastle airports are all within a 2-hour drive or thereabouts, and there are train stations dotted throughout the National Park, so accessing the house on public transport is certainly possible. The average journey time from London and the south-east is about five hours, while it’s about one and a half hours from Manchester and two hours from York.

There’s a second, more casual living area in front of a fabulous wood-burner and TV, where you can settle for a little calm relaxation. If its entertainment you’re after, head to the games room for a round of table tennis!

There are four sumptuous bedrooms in total, two doubles and two twin rooms. Each is warm, bright and cosy, with seating areas and plush furnishings. The undeniable master suite enjoys a full wall of windows overlooking the stunning river outside, as well as a large bathtub which looks out over the room and a separate walk-in rain-shower! The second double room has terrace access, so you can wake up and step straight into the sunshine as you enjoy the sun dazzling over the sea in front of you! There are four fabulous bathrooms to accompany the four bedrooms, and all are spacious, elegant and equipped with fabulous facilities.

And finally, step out onto your incredible sea-front terrace, complete with a fabulous alfresco table! Just a short walk away you’ll find the wonderful town of Porthmadog, brimming with shops, pubs and restaurants and a quaint marina. Take a ride on the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Steam Railways, watch the rare and migrating sea birds along the estuaries or get in a round of golf at Porthmadog Golf Club less than 2 miles away. With the delights of Snowdonia and The Lleyn Peninsula on your doorstep, vast mountains and glistening beach alike await you!

In this region of Wales, you’ll find its first national park: the Snowdonia National Park. 823 square miles of towering mountains and shimmering lakes, it can be seen as far away as Porthmadog on the west coast! Snowdon itself is an icon of Wales, alongside 13 other majestic peaks over 3,000 feet high, ideal for climbing and hiking! But if you’re not as fit as you used to be, worry not – the chilly peak of Snowdon is even accessible by train, so you can enjoy the breath-taking views whatever your level!

The town of Llanberis, at the foot of Snowdon, offers all sorts of quaint shops and eateries like the Llanberis Art & Craft and Coffee Pot and fascinating attractions. There are water sports, climbing and cycling activities, as well as Llanberis Lake Railway, the National Slate Museum and the Electric Mountain Visitor Centre, one of the largest Hydro-Electric power stations inside a mountain!

Wales is a small, mountainous peninsula to the west of England with just over 3 million people (less than a third of London!), yet more than 400 castles and three expansive national parks! Our personal favourites are the three national parks: the Brecon Beacons National Park, the Snowdonia National Park and the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. Whether you’re into hill-walking, hiking, canoeing, mountain biking, kayaking or climbing, or the rather more adventurous surfing, hang-gliding or even a go on the only four-person zip line in Europe, you’ll find your perfect spot amid the extraordinary natural landscapes of Wales’ most treasured parks.

With water to the north, south and east, Wales has rather more than its fair share of dramatic coastline, making for not only incredible scenery but also a superb beach holiday destination! The Pembrokeshire Peninsula which looks out over the Irish Sea promises rugged and steep limestone cliffs best enjoyed from the Pembrokeshire Coast National Trail. Along the way, you will find enchanting villages, picturesque resort areas, idyllic fishing harbours, winding estuaries, and incredible, wide-open beaches

The Wales Coast Path traces the country's entire length, taking in perfect sandcastle-beaches and striking mountain passes weaving through the wilderness. The immense geological diversity can be enjoyed along with the extensive network of paths, while for some jaw-dropping architectural beauty, Caernarfon Castle and Caerphilly Castle are just two of the many sublime castles. While the utterly cosmopolitan Cardiff is brimming with splendid castles, arcades, and historical buildings, making it the perfect base for exploring the rest of the country!

Only two hours from London, getting into Wales is easy! Cardiff Airport, or one of the London airports when visiting South Wales. Other cities served by international airports in England which offer reasonable access to parts of Wales include Bristol (for south Wales), Birmingham (for mid-Wales), Liverpool and Manchester (for north Wales). Along the coastlines the roads are excellent, and there is an extensive train service throughout the country.

Around the whole property you will find the works of renowned local artist, Lucy Pittaway, which evoke a strong urge to step outside into the extraordinary natural environment which surrounds you in Wensleydale! The fabulous modern conservatory, with plenty of comfy seating, affords spectacular views of this landscape, while underfloor heating and an Amazon Echo in every room will have you feeling totally luxuriated.

The stunning views can also be enjoyed across the three exquisite bedrooms, each with the same charming fusion of the traditional and contemporary styles which we see across the living spaces. On this ground floor there is the first room with a cosy king-size bed at its centre, complete with a dazzling ensuite bathroom. The master suite enjoys a super-king size bed, a wall-mounted TV, dressing table and sublime ensuite bathroom with a standalone bathtub! Meanwhile, the third bedroom features two single beds that can be prepared as a second super-king-size bed if you’d prefer. There is a final bathroom catering for this room with a fabulous shower.

And finally, step into your vast landscaped garden. The highlight is surely your bubbling hot-tub, calling you to slip into its massaging depths for the ultimate alfresco soak! Beside this you’ll find a comfortable set of garden sofas around a coffee table – the perfect spot to enjoy one another’s company over a late-night tipple under the stars. On the balcony above there is a fabulous oval table at which you can enjoy a meal or simply a cuppa as you gaze out over this enchanting landscape. There’s a lawn for fun and games and a barbeque for the idyllic summer’s day in the sunshine!

Just a fifteen-minute walk away you’ll find Wensleydale Brewery, where you can try one of the county’s famous Real Ales! The quaint town of Leyburn offers all the amenities you could need, with a small high-street with various shops and restaurants. A ten-minute drive away is the 12th century Jervaux Abbey, an atmospheric and charming ruin well worth a look around.

Just a short walk away is the quaint market town of Leyburn: ‘A Town for all Seasons’ with a wealth of local produce, traditional pubs and a fab weekly market, while a stone’s throw away you’ll find the magnificent Yorkshire Dales! Rolling hills dotted with tiny villages, fine pubs and breath-taking scenes of lakes, rivers and traditional architecture, this is a landscape to be explored slowly. A ten-minute drive away is the 12th century Jervaux Abbey, an atmospheric and charming ruin well worth a look around. Meanwhile, just a fifteen-minute walk away you’ll find Wensleydale Brewery, where you can try one of the county’s famous Real Ales!

North Yorkshire is one of the UK’s most beautiful counties, home to the two vast National Parks of the Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors, and bursting with history and tradition. Across the two national parks you’ll find dramatic landscapes like that of Malham Cove, incredible scenery at every turn and always a warm welcome.

There are two cities in the county: York and Ripon, the latter of which is in fact the oldest city in England. Both are deeply historical, teeming with glorious architecture including their Minster and Cathedral respectively, and winding cobbled streets. Meanwhile, the endless villages that can be found in nearly every valley are undoubtedly worth visiting. Pop in for a pint and get to know the friendly locals at the village pub or try out the many quaint cafes.
Of course, you can’t leave Yorkshire without a taste of its famous parkin, Wensleydale cheese and rhubarb from The Yorkshire Rhubarb Triangle! Yorkshire is also home to some of the country’s best breweries, including Saltaire Brewery, the Black Sheep Brewery and Theakstons and you can enjoy a fine curry throughout the county.

Dotted across the breath-taking landscape of North Yorkshire are a series of striking examples of former abbeys, mostly now ruins. The most famous (and deservedly so) are Fountains Abbey near Ripon and Bolton Priory at the southern tip of the Dales, right at the entrance to the National Park. Complete with a rather lovely café and ice cream shop and set on the riverside amid thriving forests and rolling hills, this is worth a visit for its magnificent location alone!

If you fancy a stroll along the beach, the coast is just 4 miles away, giving you the best of both worlds!

For an adventure in the great outdoors, Norfolk is an absolute must, as the driest county in the UK! The whole county is about enjoyment of the fresh air, big skies and absolutely stunning views, and is home to Britain's largest protected wetland, nature reserves of international importance, and over 90 miles of unspoilt, award-winning coastline!

Holt is a stunning town home to art galleries, antique and book shops and delicious eateries, with a maze of 18th century Georgian buildings hiding delightful courtyards and alleyways!

Norfolk’s famous coastline is bursting with wide open, empty beaches perfect for a proper bucket-and-spade holiday with the family! This is where the expanse of the skies truly bursts with life and fills you with joy. Dotted along the horizon are yachts and power-boats while nearer to shore you’ll find surfers, kayakers, kite-surfers and so much more! While lining the beaches are hundreds of candy-coloured beach huts, dazzling promenades with candyfloss and fish and chips and of course, the romantic dunes with endless hidden spots for barbeques and family-fun. All the good stuff!

No matter where you venture to, you’ll always be met with either a woodland adventure park, a winding forest trail or for a day indoors, perhaps even an award-winning museum! Stretching from Holme-next-the-Sea all the way to Cromer, the 45-mile long Norfolk Coastal Path through this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty offers some of the best birdwatching in the UK, a glimpse of the seals on Blakeney Point, and the earliest evidence of humans found outside The Great Rift Valley in Africa on the Deep History Coast! The path weaves itself through tidal creeks and salt marshes, shingle, luscious fields and enormous sandy beaches – and as Norfolk is a haven for wildlife and birds, you’ll have plenty to admire throughout!

Or if you’re after a traditional English beach trip with the added delight of white sand beaches, turquoise waters, and world-class sailing and surfing, you will not be disappointed! The county is brimming with events and attractions, and for the gastronomists among you, there is a fine array of fresh, local produce on offer across the region.

The charming rural delight that it is, there are in fact no cities in Dorset! But to the south-west you’ll find Exeter, with its Roman era City Walls, vaulted, medieval underground passages and stunning Gothic cathedral, built in the 12th-century! To the east you’ll find Southampton and to the north are the magnificent cities of Bath and Bristol! All four enjoy a lively nightlife thanks to the sizeable student populations, and a packed calendar of events!

Access to Dorset by car is easy, with excellent connections to Devon, Cornwall, Bath and Bristol, and of course London, around 100 miles away. If flying to the area, Bournemouth International Airport, just 25 minutes away, offers flights to many cities in Europe, while Exeter International operates flights between Paris CDG, Amsterdam and countless UK cities, and the nearby Bristol International Airport has nearly 80 destinations.

For keen whisky drinkers, the Oban Distillery is one of Scotland’s oldest sources of Single Malt Scotch Whisky and one of the smallest scotch distilleries and is therefore a must visit while you are in Oban. For children, the local leisure centre is less than a 5-minute walk from the house and with its swimming pool and soft play area it makes a fantastic place to occupy the children should you have any rain! On a sunny day, the whole family will enjoy a walk up to McCaig’s Tower where beautiful views over Oban and beyond can be enjoyed. The closest airport to Seaview Mansion is Glasgow which is just over two hours from the house.

The New Forest is found in the South of England, it covers most of South West Hampshire spreading into South East Wiltshire and East Dorset.

The Brick House & Annexe holds a fabulous location nestled within the New Forest National Park in a privileged position on the very edge of the privately owned Beaulieu River. The home makes a wonderful option for those searching for a truly relaxing escape, being ideally based for those wanting to enjoy the great outdoors, whether that be on foot, by bike or even by indulging in some water based activities.

The former brickworks possess endless charm and character while still offering guests all the modern amenities possibly needed for a more than comfortable stay. The Brick House can comfortably sleep up to eight guests across five well-appointed bedrooms, while the Annexe can comfortably accommodate an additional four guests, however the sleeping arrangements are best suited to a small family of two adults and two young children.

On the ground floor of the The Brick House is the main living accommodation which comprises of a warm and welcoming living and dining area with a cosy wood burner, the perfect place to snuggle up in the evenings as well as a snug and TV room. Also on this level is the kitchen, fully equipped with an Aga and all the tools a budding chef could possibly need. Upstairs on the first floor are the five bedrooms, two king-size double rooms, one of which can be set up with twin beds on request, while both come complete with en-suite bathrooms. There is also an additional double bedroom and two single rooms, each with raised high level beds making them suitable for children aged seven and above. These bedrooms share the use of the family bathroom.

On the ground floor of the Annexe is a bright and open-plan entertaining space with living and dining area as well as a fully-equipped contemporary kitchen. Upstairs and accessed by a spiral staircase is the family bedroom, which features a super-king size bed and an additional single bed and boasts an en-suite bathroom with bath and large walk-in shower. A further single bed can be found in a cosy mezzanine level above, this is accessed by ladder style stairs and has a restricted head height so is best suited to a young child.

Outside, guests will enjoy the excellent river views from the garden, while the terrace makes the perfect spot to enjoy a yummy barbecue al fresco on a Summer’s evening.  A second large lawn can be found to the side of the main house, complete with a trampoline, excellent fun for the children!

Hastings, with its family-friendly attractions and trendy Old Town, is less than a thirty-minute walk or a five-minute car journey away.

Originally built as a hotel, Skyfall has been beautifully and lovingly transformed by its current owners, today boasting chic, contemporary interiors while still retaining a warm and homely feel throughout. Comfortably sleeping up to eleven guests, Skyfall makes the perfect location for a family celebration or get-together!

On the ground floor, guests will find the bright living accommodation which comprises of an open-plan kitchen and dining area, fully-equipped with all the tools a budding chef could need and access to the outdoor deck, the ultimate place to enjoy your morning cup of coffee. Skyfall holds a wonderful position within St Leonards-on-Sea in walking distance of the beach and a wide variety of shops and restaurants. Neighbouring Hastings is less than a 5-minute car journey away and is a must-visit with its family-friendly attractions, including Hastings Castle, Smugglers Adventure, Blue Reef Aquarium and Adventure Golf courses, as well as its artsy and happening Old Town with independent eateries and excellent boutique shopping. Hastings Country Park is a 15-minute car journey from Skyfall, choose to walk from the Old Town or enjoy a ride on the East Hill funicular to the top of the cliffs, the views are breathtaking, and the walks wonderful, whether you are looking for a serious hike or simply fancy a peaceful stroll! Further afield and for any history enthusiasts, Battle Abbey is less than a 20-minute car journey away, while Bodiam and Scotney Castles are both within a 40-minute journey. The postcard-perfect medieval town of Rye is one of England’s best kept secrets, bursting with charm and character, it is just half an hour away and is well-worth a visit! Skyfall makes an excellent venue for a reunion of friends with it being in such easy reaching distance of the capital. West St Leonards station is only a 90-minute train journey away from London Bridge and is less than a 10-minute stroll from the house!

You could even pop over to the Isle of Wight for the day!

The discerning chefs amongst you will be delighted to find an immaculate, spacious kitchen on the lower floor with the very best appliances including two ovens, a built-in microwave, a dishwasher, a huge American-style fridge freezer and instant boiling water, perfect for large groups. It is a very sociable space so guests can keep the chefs in your group company, perching on stools at the island with a glass of chilled wine. There is also a cute window seat if there are a crowd of you in the kitchen. Next door you will find your beautiful dining room with its giant dining table, bench seating and upholstered chairs. With a very attractive designer wallpaper, the room looks spectacular and is perfect for a celebratory meal. There is also a very handy laundry room tucked around the corner. There is access to the garden from this lower ground floor.

The ground floor is home to your remaining living spaces and one of your luxurious bedroom suites. The living room enjoys a striking royal blue and white colour palette, sumptuous sofas and love seats which everyone seems to rush for, a wonderful feature fireplace and a large television with Sky Q. Just next door is the highly impressive cinema room with its 85 inch screen, Apple TV, Netflix, Amazon TV and PS4. You might find it difficult to get your children to leave this brilliantly appointed room. There is a comfy corner sofa as well as two chairs that recline. There is usually a race for those too! At the far end of the hall, you will find the bar. It is just brilliant for groups of friends and family. Wannabe mixologists can have a lot of fun! Beyond the bar you will find a beautifully decorated, large bedroom suite comprised of one room with a comfy kingsize bed, an adjoining room with a single bed, a pristine ensuite shower room and access to the garden. This suite is ideal for a family with a child.

There are five gorgeous bedroom suites on the first floor, three with kingsize beds and ensuite shower rooms, one with a single bed and an ensuite shower room and another with fun bunk beds ideal for children. Children love them! Even this bedroom has its own shower room! All of the bedrooms are very tastefully finished, mostly neutral in colour palettes but with the odd splash of vibrant colour. You will find some contemporary wallpapers and a range of luxury throws, curtains and scatter cushions. There is plenty of space for everyone’s holiday wardrobe and crisp cottons and fluffy towels for all.

Marine House enjoys a fabulous location, close to the beach in Southsea. Southsea is a seaside resort with a thriving, cultural force and is bursting with independent shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants. It emerged as a popular tourist destination during the Victorian era. The entire Southsea area is walkable with plenty of attractions to enjoy. Southsea Castle was reportedly built to specifications set out by King Henry VIII. It stands at Portsmouth’s most southerly point, overlooking the Solent. The D-Day Museum is very interesting, the only one of its kind in Britain. You will be fascinated by the Overlord Embroidery which features embroidered panels replicating a series of watercolours that hang in The Pentagon in America. Canoe Lake sits in a popular park dating from 1886, surrounded by mature evergreen oaks planted in 1910. It is very pretty and has pedal boats for hire. Children love the play area with its zip wire, sand pit and water fun. Next to the lake are the remaining walls of Lumps Fort which is home to the Southsea Rose Gardens and the Southsea Model Village. There are two piers, South Parade Pier and Clarence Pier, both enjoying typical seaside fun. When you are walking around Southsea you will notice many blue plaques on display. These showcase the area’s famous former residents including Sherlock Holmes, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Rudyard Kidling and Peter Sellers. There is an excellent selection of pubs, cafes and restaurants.

From Southsea Hoverport, just a  five minute drive from the house, you can catch a hovercraft which reaches Ryde on the Isle of Wight in just ten minutes! It is a very popular excursion. Ryde offers fabulous stretches of sandy beaches, a thriving independent shopping scene, wonderful dining opportunities and a quirky mix of traditional seaside entertainment. The town is brimming with Victorian architecture and unexpected hidden gems. It was one of the UK’s original seaside destinations, much loved by Queen Victoria. To the east of the pier you will find Appley Beach bordered by a wonderful park. There is also go-karting, golf, bowling, lazer quest, a cinema, a waterside pool, the Isle of White Bus and Coach Museum and the Isle of Wight Steam Railway.

Portsmouth itself and its popular Gunwharf Quays is where many guests head. Gunwharf Quays boasts an excellent selection of designer stores at outlet prices and a wonderful array of family-friendly restaurants. It is less than a ten minute car journey from the house. For those with a strong head for heights, Gunwharf is home to Portsmouth’s Spinnaker Tower, a one hundred and seventy metre tall observation tower complete with a glass floor. It enjoys breathtaking views across the Solent. You can book additionally for an afternoon tea experience or a one hundred metre abseil!  For those with an interest in history, the Historic Dockyard which is home to HMS Victory and HMS Warrior 1860 is also just ten minutes from Marine House.

The glorious Cathedral City of Chichester, one of the great well-preserved Georgian cities in the UK, is a thirty minute drive away. With its gorgeous architecture, ancient city walls, beautiful Cathedral, canal, harbour, parkland and cobbled streets lined with independent shops, restaurants and galleries, it is well worth a visit. The city of Winchester, on the edge of the rolling South Downs Nationa Park, is also within easy reach of Marine House, home to one of Britain’s greatest Cathedrals, the country’s largest farmers market and the popular Marwell Zoo. It is England’s ancient capital and former seat of King Alfred the Great. It is also the resting place of the author Jane Austen and the inspiration to the many craft makers and artists that live there.  

The Georgian market town of Lymington is another beauty on the coast within the New Forest National Park. It is famous for its sailing history and boasts two gorgeous marinas, two sailing clubs and picturesque narrow streets filled with pretty period cottages, independent shops, pubs and restaurants. Its Saturday market dates back to the thirteenth century.
