This is an all year round destination for an active or relaxing holiday. This stylish lodge, purpose built in 2020, has all your creature comforts and panoramic windows making the most of its waterside location overlooking the pool. Flooded with natural light the open plan lounge/kitchen/diner is perfect to relax in and enjoy the view. The kitchen is well equipped with electric oven and hob, fridge, freezer, microwave and dishwasher with all the thoughtful little extras to rustle up a meal. If you are bringing your dog there are two stainless steel bowls and a few treats. The utility cupboard houses the washer/dryer and a separate WC by the front door . Enjoy morning coffee at the breakfast bar or a leisurely meal at the dining table, it is the perfect setting for you all to gather round, maybe slide back the doors and listen to the wildlife. After dinner settle down on the comfortable sofa, plan your activities, watch a film on the Smart TV with Netflix or light the wood burner and read a good book. To the left of the living area is the master bedroom with king size bed, Smart TV, dressing room and en suite shower room with shower and WC, enjoy a refreshing shower to start the day. To the right of the living area is the second bedroom with super king size zip and link (which can be made into a twin on request) with Smart TV and en suite bathroom with shower over bath and WC. Enjoy a bubble bath or leisurely shower. Both the bedrooms have good quality linen, soft towels and fabulous views over the water to wake up to. Outside you have a private patio with table, chairs and BBQ overlooking the fishing pool with visiting wildlife, the private enclosed lawn and the lockable store with lighting accessed to the side of the lodge for your bikes or fishing gear. The lodge has a small wooded area to the rear of the lodge, perfect for picnics in the shade. It is set in 20 acres of grounds for you to explore. Fishing is available on site, situated on a 200 acre site which include five fishing pools (fishing passes can be purchased directly with the owner). Ample private parking on site.

The site was freshly remodelled in 2023. Our new farm shop features gourmet, hand-prepared ready meals from the nearby Deli, perfect for those lazy days. Plenty of delicious local produce is also on offer, meaning you can visit us without the stress of a supermarket shop! The helpful visitor information section in the shop includes our new 'Wander Wall', where you'll find details of local hikes and activities for all ages and abilities. Your friendly host Tam can also give you recommendations for things to do throughout your stay in addition to those provided in your handbook.
The quaint market town of Church Stretton is a five-minute drive away, where you'll find small, independent shops and Carding Mill Valley, a very popular spot for walkers. The larger towns of Shrewsbury and Ludlow make for an excellent day-trip. If you fancy an evening meal, there are three high quality pubs within a 3-mile radius.

Our luxury Safari Tent is extremely comfortable and sleeps up to five people, with a spacious open-plan living room and fully-equipped kitchen. Enjoy an evening drink on the terrace whilst the kids play one of the board games in the living room and see if you can spot a deer at sunset.
We offer a variety of extras which can be booked during the checkout process. These include a private wood-fired hot tub, a glass bottle of fresh milk which can be refilled at the next-door organic dairy, and an entertainment set for children. Well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome - there is a small additional charge for cleaning.

You have a wonderful secluded spot, offering total privacy, as we only offer the one unit so you have no neighbours (other than our livestock and the abundant wildlife!)

Nestled in their own private slice of our organic farm, our yurts bring you closer to the beautiful Shropshire countryside. The unique design of our two interconnected yurts provides shelter from the elements with a relaxing, cosy atmosphere.
Our yurts are fully equipped for the best glamping experience. Inside one of the yurts is everything you will need for a cosy night’s sleep. There is a comfy double bed and set of bunkbeds. In the other connected yurt is a living area, complete with dining area, seating, large sink and a wood burner. There is also a double sofa bed.

Just outside on the decked area, you’ll find a gas barbecue, gas hob and gas powered fridge. The outside bathroom contains a compost loo and camping shower. If you’d prefer an electric shower, this is available at certain times of day in the main building.

At the right time of year there is also an edible garden including marigolds, mint, gooseberries and damson trees. Meaning you won’t have to go far to go for a snack. You will be left to your own devices during your stay, you are free to explore our picturesque organic farm. We have farm trails weaving around the farm, which will take you around our pastures, woodland and along the river. Why not say hello to some of our friendly animals as you explore?

Our organic Farm Shop is a short walk away, where you can purchase delicious local produce to prepare in the yurts.

Our yurts are designed to help you reconnect with nature, with your loved ones and yourself. They are well and truly off-grid. For this reason we have no Wi-Fi facilities at the yurts. There are electricity sockets available for use at the farm in the main building, but with the Shropshire Hills as your playground, this is the perfect place to switch off!

The nature of our yurts and surroundings lends itself perfectly to all families; there are so many new experiences you can enjoy with your children whilst they learn about the natural world first hand.

Arthur’s Farm Kitchen is located right next door the the farm shop. Arthur's is run by the Fordhall Community Land Initiative, a charitable society set up to benefit the community. All profits from the café are re-invested within our educational and community work.

What’s in the yurt?

A fully equipped kitchen including:
• Pots and pans

• Water – there is no running water at the yurts but there is a large water container. Small containers are there for you to top it up as and when it’s needed. You can collect fresh drinking water from the brass tap by the farm shop (5-minute walk).
• Kettle that can be used either on the wood burner or gas hob
• Utensils including a tin opener and bottle opener
• Chopping boards

• A few initial candles (you might want to bring more)

• Double bed, 1 set bunk beds (note for bookings of 6 guests you also use the double sofa bed in the living area – we DO NOT automatically provide bedding for this extra bed, if you wish to use our bedding there is a charge of £15.00 for 1 x double set but you are welcome to bring your own at no cost)

Please note: An electric shower is available at certain times of the day in the main building: when the café is not open (before 9.30am and after 5.30pm and all day Mondays) Flushing toilets are also available in the main building (both are a 5-minute walk from yurt). If our straw bale bunkhouse is vacant during your stay we have 2 showers and 4 toilets available to you with unlimited access and we will advise you on arrival if this is available to you.

General Information

• Charging electrical devices – At your own risk you can charge your phone / tablet in the main building (our staff can advise on the best locations for this).
• Heat – the yurts are well insulated and there is a wood burner. The initial fuel is included in the cost. More fuel can be purchased from the farm shop. Please don’t collect wood from around the farm – we would like to leave it there for wildlife.

• Mobile phone signal – good for most networks

• General rubbish – leave in bin bags with Arthur’s Farm Kitchen staff. Food waste can be put into our Ridan composter. Please read the instructions provided in the yurts.

• Car Parking – there is one designated space in the car park by the Straw Lodge. There is a wheelbarrow available to move your luggage down to the yurts (5-minute walk down a slope on grass). Our yurts are generally not suitable for people with mobility problems as there are steps to the toilet, shower and barbecue area.
Pets – dogs are not allowed.

Guests have full access to the shepherds hut and the surrounding gardens which also include the pub gardens.
Other things to note
Please note this area is very rural and the shepherds hut is a form of glamping. The idea is for you to hopefully fall in love with your surroundings whether it be walking/mountain biking or just relaxing by the log fire in the Hut. This in turn means there is no TV facilities and the WiFi is limited to the pub.

Dogs are very welcome - we just ask for a £15 cleaning fee to be paid during your stay. This is purely to cover the anti allergy and cleaning cost after departure. We also ask for you to bring your own dog bed and to not have your furry friends on the bed at all.

Please feel free to bring your own wood for the log fire burner. Alternatively, a basket of wood can purchased for £8 per load.

** For an extra special treat, we offer baked treat boxes on arrival including Afternoon Tea, Brownies, Blondies, Traybakes and cakes (please note - this must be booked 7 days before your arrival, please feel free to message with any enquiries).**
