The Space:
Completely self contained the Bothy is a fantastic base for exploring the Lake District and surrounding regions and cosying up with some fantastic local takeaways during your stay.

With a cosy Lounge (and wood burning stove!), downstairs shower room and mezzanine bedding area, the bothy is the perfect space to relax and unwind in one of the UK’s most stunning and undisturbed valleys.
The Bothy is a 300 year old stone building and was originally the kitchen for the main house. It features a cosy, open-plan space with wood burning stove, antique furnishings and a chesterfield sofa – perfect for relaxing after a day on the Lakeland Fells. The charming shower room is on the ground floor with locally made, award winning natural toiletries.

The mezzanine (in the apex of the roof – you may need to duck!) has an inviting double bed for you to rest your head in anticipation of another day exploring the local walks and fells from your doorstep.

There are no cooking facilities – enjoy, you are here to unwind and relax! The award-winning Punchbowl Inn is a 3 min walk away and you are within walking/ cycling distance of 5 more award-winning gastro pubs in the valley. There are many wonderful cafes in the area, including the award-winning More? The Artisan Bakery, in Staveley.

There is a fridge, tea/ coffee, glassware as well as a Toaster. Crockery and cutlery are provided for a simple breakfast, takeaway, or posh picnic supper – no need to wash up, just leave the used dishes in the tub outside and we will take care of them!

The property benefits from one allocated parking space close by and guests are able to use the Bothy and the car parking throughout their stay. Secure cycle storage available on request. Outside seating area.

Getting Around:
Windermere & Oxenholme railway stations are within a short distance by taxi but one would recommend that your own vehicle would be best in order to explore the best of this rural location.

Interaction with Guests:
We do Live on site and are available should you need anything at all, but you will feel totally relaxed and not overlooked during your stay.

Located in Kendal, this cabin is in a rural area. Blackwell, The Arts & Crafts House and The Quaker Tapestry Museum & Exhibition are local landmarks, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at Windermere Golf Club and Windermere Ferry. Kendal Museum and Lakeland Climbing Centre are also worth visiting.
