If you are looking for a night off from cooking, then we recommend a trip to the excellent local pub, The White Eagle.  A real hidden gem, this pub is often referred to as the best on the island, with an elevated outdoor terrace, mouth-watering roasts and a selection of ales, all complimented by a stunning view, just two minutes from your door.

Why not visit the only working windmill in Wales at Llynon Mill?  Built in 1775 the mill still produces wholemeal flour, whilst two neighbouring roundhouses provide a unique insight into the farming practise and lifestyle of the Iron Age.  There is also a wonderful on-site café to grab some lunch or a slice of cake during your visit.

If you want to get out on the waves, we recommend a visit to Beaumaris Pier to grab a boat trip to Puffin Island.  Skippers will steer you past the seal colony and seal cave at Penmon Point lighthouse, whilst the Island itself has a plethora of birdlife from cormorants, guillemots and of course puffins!  If you are lucky you may even spot bottlenose dolphins or harbour porpoises swimming by.

A trip into the Snowdonia national park is a must during your stay.  Whether you are looking to climb the highest peaks or just take in the natural beauty of the National Park there is something for everyone.  We recommend the Llyn Cwellyn Boardwalk trail, an easy access lakeside walk that meanders between two soaring mountain peaks.   If hiking isn’t your thing then why not hop on board the seasonal Snowdon Railway, surely one of the most picturesque train rides in the world, with stunning scenery and awe-inspiring views you can ride the rail right to the summit without any exertion needed!

The impressive outdoor area expands further than the lovely outdoor seating and BBQ of each properties’ balcony terrace areas, to a private tennis court, a private hot tub each and a Rebo tennis wall.  Swing in a hanging chair or relax in the bubbles with a drink as you watch the world go by or if your competitive streak still needs feeding after a game on the court, then a table tennis tournament will keep even the most energetic guests busy!  With the beach just a ten-minute walk away, access to sand and sea is easy with lovely coastal walks easily accessed from your front door. There is much to see and do in one of the most visually striking parts of Wales if you can tear yourself away from the excellent amenities on offer at Denbigh House.

If you are looking for a night off from cooking, then we recommend a trip to the excellent local pub, The White Eagle.  A real hidden gem, this pub is often referred to as the best on the island, with an elevated outdoor terrace, mouth-watering roasts and a selection of ales, all complimented by a stunning view, just two minutes from your door.

Why not visit the only working windmill in Wales at Llynon Mill?  Built in 1775 the mill still produces wholemeal flour, whilst two neighbouring roundhouses provide a unique insight into the farming practise and lifestyle of the Iron Age.  There is also a wonderful on-site café to grab some lunch or a slice of cake during your visit.

If you want to get out on the waves, we recommend a visit to Beaumaris Pier to grab a boat trip to Puffin Island.  Skippers will steer you past the seal colony and seal cave at Penmon Point lighthouse, whilst the Island itself has a plethora of birdlife from cormorants, guillemots and of course puffins!  If you are lucky you may even spot bottlenose dolphins or harbour porpoises swimming by.

A trip into the Snowdonia national park is a must during your stay.  Whether you are looking to climb the highest peaks or just take in the natural beauty of the National Park there is something for everyone.  We recommend the Llyn Cwellyn Boardwalk trail, an easy access lakeside walk that meanders between two soaring mountain peaks.   If hiking isn’t your thing then why not hop on board the seasonal Snowdon Railway, surely one of the most picturesque train rides in the world, with stunning scenery and awe-inspiring views you can ride the rail right to the summit without any exertion needed!

Hambleden sits in one of the most attractive valleys in the Chiltern Hills with rows of brick and flint cottages. Its St Mary’s church dates back to the 14th century and offers a tower with eight bells. The post office in the village is also a local shop and cafe. There are several notable buildings and the village has been home to several famous people including William Henry Smith, founder of W H Smith and Lord Cardigan. The village has often been used as a film location including Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Dance with a Stranger, opening scenes of the remake of the Avengers, 101 Dalmations and the Tim Burton film Sleepy Hollow.

The stylish market town Henley-on-Thames is the international home of rowing, sitting on a beautiful stretch of the River Thames and enjoying a picturesque sprinkling of shops, restaurants and cafes along its streets. Henley is famous for its prestigious events, the Henley Royal Regatta, the Thames Traditional Boat Festival and the Festival of Music and Art. Thousands of visitors head to the town during the five day Henley Royal Regatta to watch Olympians compete in the two hundred plus races. The Thames Traditional Boat Festival first took place thirty seven years ago. It is a fun day out for the whole family with Punch and Judy puppet shows, a pop up pub, stalls offering trades and crafts from days gone by and much more. There are beautiful riverside walks and plenty of boating opportunities. The town’s own artisan gin, Mr Hobbs Gin, stems back to 1879 when Mr Harry Hobbs, founder of Hobbs and Sons (now Hobbs of Henley) and publican of The Ship Hotel was often seen about the town with his high-spirited nature and flamboyant beard or on his punt at 11am enjoying his home-distilled gin. He held parties along the banks of the river and hired out his boasts for like-minded locals to host their own gatherings. To mark the one hundred and fiftieth anniversary of the family business, the family started to look at local botanicals and embarked on creating their own gin in honour of the man that started it all. The town is also famous as a location used in the popular series Midsomer Murders. Fans will recognise some of the locations used such as Gabriel Machin’s butcher shop, Tudor House Antiques and the Argyll pub.

A short distance away is the university city of Oxford. You can tour the hallowed halls of Britain’s oldest and most famous university and follow in the footsteps of famous poets and Prime Ministers. Several scenes from Harry Potter were filmed at various sites in the town including Oxford University’s Bodleian Library which is known to fans as Hogwarts Library. Visitors enjoy hop-on hop-off bus tours to explore the town’s architecture, its culture and its museums. The ancient Ashmolean Museum of Art and Archaeology, the Oxford University Museum of Natural History and the Pitt Rivers Museum are all very interesting. Visitors can step back in history among the Norman ruins of Oxford Castle, wander beneath the Bridge of Sighs or simply enjoy the town’s fantastic array of eateries and bars. Thame is another very pretty, thriving market town within easy reach. It is situated at the foot of the Chiltern Hills, just 14 miles from Oxford. Thame boasts fascinating historical buildings, beautiful parks, a museum, a theatre, excellent shopping and a wonderful array of restaurants and bars. Thame grew from Anglo-Saxon roots to become a very characterful town with plenty of medieval buildings standing aside those from the Georgian and Victorian periods. Thame enjoys an iconic boat-shaped high street and a buzzy market place. It is also frequently used as a filming location for ‘Midsomer Murders’. Thame hosts regular markets and arts and crafts fairs in the town hall. The local railway line between Matlock and Rowsley offers a fantastic vintage experience aboard a steam or diesel train, a great step back in time, and a chance to view the lovely countryside along the way.
