Pine Marten is a beautiful Canadian style log cabin made of red cedar. It is totally private and sits among a glade of trees in a private glen.

The glen is full of wildlife including deer, pine martens, red squirrels and eagles.

The lodge comes with complimentary salmon fishing on our private river. It is a haven of peace and tranquillity.

The lodges are for adults couples only so there is no noise except for bird song and the occasion roar of a stag in the glen.

Woodcock and Wildcat both have roll top copper baths and Pine Marten has a bath and shower.

All three lodges have very good wifi and are centrally heated. Woodocck and Wildcat both have log burners.

Highland Lodges is a beautiful resort with stunning lake and mountain views. Your host, Cameron and his outstanding team have excellent local knowledge and are always on hand to help plan guests itineraries. 

Pinemarten lodge consists of two bedrooms, (1 double, 1 twin) a large dining area, a living area and a kitchen. The kitchen is fully equipped and features an oven, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave and kettle - there is even a coffee machine. The living area is also well-appointed with all the latest mod-cons including unlimited Wi-Fi, an Nintendo Wii and SKY TV.

There is 1 family bathroom with a shower over the bath and an en-suite bathroom off of the master bedroom. To the front of the lodge there is a great decking area where you can relax and take in the magnificent views.

Although housekeeping staff will clean the property after you leave, we respectfully ask all guests to clean and put away any plates, cups, glasses, etc they have used during their stay.

We are the booking agent for the owners and can be contacted at our office in Dingwall during the following hours Monday to Friday 9:30 - 17:00 prior to your arrival.
Prior to your arrival we will email guests a contact number for the property owner or local housekeeper for your use should you require any assistance during your stay.
You will be required to check in online via an email sent by Gael Holiday Homes (The Host). Key collection information will only be sent out after online check in is completed. Please ensure you done this at least 1 week prior to arrival.

This cabin is located in Elgin. Moray Golf Club and Speyside Way are worth checking out if an activity is on the agenda, while those wishing to experience the area's natural beauty can explore Lossiemouth East Beach and Moray Firth. Relax and Harbour Treasures are also worth visiting.

From a private car park located beside the chalet the entrance is served by a ramp with Italian tiles leading to a triple glazed entrance door. Step into the chalet and the entrance hallway has a utility room off with separate washing machine and tumble dryer. Making your way through the ground floor hallway leads to 3 incredibly spacious bedrooms with ensuite facilities.

The master bedroom is furnished with a super king size bed, bedside tables with reading lights, USB ample wardrobe space and vanity area. Leading from the bedroom is a large fully tiled ensuite bathroom with shower over jacuzzi bath. The bedroom is provided with two leather arm chairs with coffee table and incredible triple glazed floor to ceiling windows allow you either to sit or lie in bed in comfort and solitude whilst you enjoy the stunning views over the cascading Ben More burn waterfall which flows immediately outside.

Further down the hallway are two more extensive sized bedrooms again with ample wardrobe space and vanity area, one twin with two single beds and one king size double both with shower rooms.

All beds and mattresses are hotel grade with 2000 spring, pocket sprung with Cashmere top laid with 100% goose down Messentex duvets and pillows (non allergenic man made fabric duvets and pillows can be provided upon request) Egyptian cotton bed linen, soft towels, bath robes, slippers and eye mask.

All floors downstairs are heated with thermostat controls in each room for total control on the ambient temperature within the bedroom giving you the perfect room temperature for a great nights sleep. All windows are triple glazed and the comfort of the chalet is enhanced even more by a fully controllable 'Nibe' central heating system and hot water system that is supplied by an air source heat pump and controlled by a digital thermostat.

Upstairs is connected by either a hand made Beech wood stairway or for anyone who would rather not tackle the stairs, there is an internal elevator.

ABOUT
Woodhead Shepherds Hut is situated on Woodhead of Mailer Farm, just in front of the farmhouse. This is a livestock farm is run by the McFadzean family, George is the third generation of McFadzeans’ to farm here. The hut surrounded by nature and farm animals, both cattle and sheep, the wildlife and birds in the locality is varied and in abundance and we have foxes, deer, badgers, pheasants and buzzards, to name a few, that frequent our area. If you are lucky, you may even see a red squirrel.

Location
The farm is situated only 1 mile from the western edge of Perth and 10 mins drive gets you into the centre. It has the most stunning views over Strathearn, with Bridge of Earn to the East and Forgandenny to the West and taking a walk to the top of the hill gives glorious views down the valley towards Auchterarder. We are ideally situated to give you the experience of the countryside yet close to the city of Perth. Only 45mins from Glasgow and Edinburgh. Close to both bus and railway stations.

Linen and towels are all included to make your stay more enjoyable.
The hut has all the amenities required for a comfortable stay. A fully equipped kitchen with a small cooker, a hot plate and a fridge freezer, a double bed with underbed storage and a toilet and shower room. There are USB chargers, Wi-Fi and a television.

There is an outside table and chairs and a gas bbq or if you do not fancy cooking Hazel McFadzean (George’s sister) runs a catering business, Hazelnuts Catering, and will supply you with freezer ready or fresh meals if required, please order beforehand on Hazelnuts Catering FB page.
