Town: Meifod is a sunny little, stone-built village by the River Vyrnwy with a local pub and convenience store with a post office, enveloped by rolling hills and woodland, with attractive houses. Situated about 7 miles north-west of Welshpool, this pretty village also offers tennis courts (day tickets can be purchased cheaply from the village shop), its own ruby and football teams and a historic church where there is said to be the royal tombs of 2 former princes of Powys.
