Vespers is a short walk from Potter Heigham Bridge, along a tow-path which takes approx. 6 minutes or a 7/10 minute walk from your designated car parking space.

Please note Vespers does not have vehicular access. It is reached via foot path or boat only.
Unfortunately the foot path which runs from the car park/bridge to Vespers is not suitable for mobility scooters and may prove challenging to anyone with limited mobility.

There are numerous family attractions, beautiful beaches and places of interest all easily accessible from Potter Heigham. Explore the surrounding area by foot, car, bike or boat. You will not be disappointed.

If you wish to take a break from Self-catering there are many lovely cafes, quaint pubs or restaurants close by for you to chose from whether you wish to enjoy a cream tea or a 3 course dinner.

Well behaved pets are welcome with an additional refundable deposit to be paid at the time of booking.

This is a dog friendly holiday home and therefore is unsuitable for anyone who suffers with pet hair allergies. Vespers is cleaned thoroughly in between bookings but I cannot guarantee a pet hair free environment.

This is strictly a NO SMOKING property due to its wooden construction. Smoking is only allowed outside the cabin, away from the property.

Two of your furry friends are welcome to join you. They will just love the mammoth expanses of sand and the deep pine forests at Holkham.

Every inch of this special, sprawling barn conversion is spectacular. It makes you think of New York loft living or warehouse conversion with its vast open plan spaces and vaulted ceilings. The attention to detail is seriously impressive and the colour palettes are totally on trend. You will find perfectly placed fairy lights, original beach themed artworks, industrial style table legs and artistic pottery vases all mingling with rich, deep traditional chairs and warm wood. The combinations show brilliance.

The vast contemporary kitchen is a chef’s dream. You can gather around the enormous island chatting to the chef and admiring the smart blue handmade DeVol units. The huge range cooker is perfect for cooking with wonderful local Norfolk produce. You may even have picked some samphire from the beach to go with fish delights from Gurneys of the quaint, ‘Chelsea-on Sea’ Burnham Market. You can enjoy dinner around the massive farmhouse table under the gorgeous rafters. Even the handy utility room offers interior design brilliance.

The lounge area is equally spectacular with squishy sofas and leather chairs, all enjoying this fabulous vaulted space. It really is incredibly social and absolutely perfect if you have a special occasion to celebrate.

The Wells Cattle Shed is located between two small villages, Wighton and Binham, just outside of the the fabulous seaside town of Wells-next-the-Sea. Wells-next-the-Sea is one of the loveliest towns on the North Norfolk coast. With a huge sweeping sandy beach scattered with dunes and grasses and bordered by pinewoods and pretty pastel beach huts, it is seaside paradise. A minature train takes you between the beach and the harbour and town centre. You will find excited children crabbing on the quayside opposite delicious fish and chip shops and a few amusement arcades. The shopping lane takes you up to the pretty, leafy green known as ‘The Buttlands’ which is home to welcoming gastropubs. From the extraordinary, Instagram worthy beach you can walk to the vast expanses of Holkham Beach where the Household Cavalry can be seen galloping the shores. The beach and pine forest walks are wonderful. Young ones will enjoy the Wells to Walsingham Light Railway.

The beach at Holkham is one of the most unspoilt and beautiful stretches of sand in the country. With a glorious semi-circle basin filling to form a spectacular shallow lagoon at high tides, this beach is famous for the closing scene in Gwyneth Paltrow’s ‘Shakespeare in Love’ and is also very popular with bird-watchers.

The Holkham Estate is huge at 25000 acres. Holkham Hall is rich in history, architecture and wildlife. The seat of the Earl of Leicester, this elegant 18th century mansion is still a much loved, lived-in family home which visitors can also enjoy. There are 6 acres of walled garden, originally laid out by Samuel Wyatt in the late 1700’s. Visitors are welcome to enjoy the walking and cycling paths, the lakes, watching the deer, the tree top high ropes course with its swings, bridges and ziplines, rowing boats, canoes and kayaks on the lake and the woodland play area. It is an outstanding family excursion.

If you enjoy a potter around the shops, Burnham Market and Holt are perfect. Brimming with unique independent shops, welcoming gastropubs such as the Hoste, cute delis, cafes and galleries, all around a delightful village green, Burnham Market is incredibly popular. Look out for the August arts and crafts fair with puppet shows and alfresco dining! Holt is another Norfolk gem, again with wonderful art galleries, eateries and charm.

Wickhambrook Hideaway is surrounded by glorious fields deep in the Suffolk countryside. It is located on the outskirts of the village of Wickhambrook, between Newmarket, Bury St Edmunds, Haverhill and Lavenham. Cambridge is to the west and the fabulous Suffolk coast to the east.

The charming, much photographed village of Lavenham is considered to be Britain’s best preserved medieval village and one of Suffolk’s most important wool towns. At every turn in Lavenham you will encounter medieval charm with characterful timber framed buildings lining the narrow streets and lanes. Lavenham has also gained a ‘foodie’ reputation with excellent restaurants and pubs. The village offers a rich history. In Tudor England, Lavenham was the 14th richest town thanks to its famous Lavenham Blue broadcloth. There are over 300 buildings listed as being of architectural and historic interest, including the beautiful Church of St Peter and St Paul, Little Hall, The Guildhall and De Vere House. The celebrated Guildhall is a spectacular timber-framed building built around 1530 by the religious Guild of Corpus Christi. The renovated Guildhall is located in the historic market place and today tells the stories of Lavenham’s fortunes. Little Hall, built in the 1390’s was once home to the Causton family and is now a museum owned by the Suffolk Buildings Preservation Trust. St Peter and St Paul Church was built at the height of Lavenham’s prosperity by Thomas Spring III in the late 15th century. The Old Grammar School is another amazing building. It was open from 1647-1887 and is a Grade I listed building whose many pupils included the famous painter John Constable. De Vere House is also know as the De Vere Hunting Lodge, the last house in Lavenham to be owned by the Earls of Oxford. Lavenham boasts a wonderful array of art galleries including the Crooked House Gallery, a building full of wonky charm. There are many charming cafes and restaurants. Lavenham is very proud of its strong links to America. The Lavenham airbase was home to the 487th Bombardment Group of the 8th US Army Air Force who flew 185 missions and more than 6000 sorties during WWII. There are some delightful walks in and around Lavenham. One is the Lavenham Woodland walk, part of the Old Lavenham to Long Melford Great Eastern Railway line. Not only is is beautiful, there are 24 varieties of butterflies that have been seen in the area.

The market town of Newmarket is the home of horse racing with the largest racehorse breeding centre in the country. It is a key global centre for horse health. Two classic races and three British Champions Series races are held at Newmarket each year. Newmarket has enjoyed close royal connections since the time of James I and the Queen often visits the town to see her horses in training. There are over fifty stables and two large racetracks, the Rowley Mile and the July Course. The town is home to over 3,500 racehorses.

Bury St Edmunds, the home of Saint Edmund, the original patron Saint of England boasts award-winning restaurants, excellent shopping, beautiful parks, historic buildings and many annual festivals. The magnificent St Edmundsbury Cathedral stands in the stunning Abbey Gardens among the ruins of the Abbey of St Edmund.

There is something for everyone in Cambridge. You might like to go punting on the River Cam, enjoy a picnic in the park, cycle around the impressive network of cycle paths, visit the stunning university buildings or join a walking tour of the city. King’s College Chapel is celebrated for its choral services including the famous A Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols, broadcast live by the BBC to the nation and around the globe on Christmas Eve. The University of Cambridge’s Fitzwilliam Museum houses world-class collections of art and antiquities spanning centuries and Kettle’s Yard is a fantastic gallery for 20th century art and contemporary art. Theatre lovers are very happy with performances straight from the West End. There are also many alfresco music gigs.

The grass is meticulously mown every week, and the paddock and site are kept neat and tidy. Access to the grounds is convenient through the five-bar gates directly off the road.

For your culinary adventures, you're welcome to light up a barbecue and enjoy some sausage sizzles. There's a conveniently located food shop within a mile, open late daily, ensuring your essential supplies are easily accessible.

The tent is Equipped with 2 inflatable camping beds guests must bring all other camping equipment minus the tent (linen, sleeping bags, pillows, cooking equipment, etc.)

Welcome to our serene and scenic campsite! Nestled within the peaceful hamlet of Harrowby, just three miles from Grantham and a scenic 45-minute drive from Lincoln, this tranquil site offers the perfect escape.

Situated on a one-acre slightly sloping paddock surrounded by woods, our basic site provides fabulous views over the valley and regular sightings of resident wildlife. As you explore the grounds, you'll discover a delightful wildlife pond, adding to the natural charm of the area (please note that fishing is not allowed).

Maintained to a high standard, our site ensures a relaxed rural vibe. Facilities include 3 wet toilets with wash hand basin and 1 hot/cold shower, both illuminated by electric light. The grass is meticulously mown every week, and the paddock and site are kept neat and tidy. Access to the grounds is convenient through the five-bar gates directly off the road.

For your culinary adventures, you're welcome to light up a barbecue and enjoy some sausage sizzles. There's a conveniently located food shop within a mile, open late daily, ensuring your essential supplies are easily accessible.

Revel in the tranquility of the surroundings, as this is a classed as a quiet site. We aim to provide a peaceful experience for all travellers ranging from backpacking individuals to families and couples , unfortunately we cannot accommodate hen/stag parties.

Please note that the toilet and shower facilities are unisex.The site does not permit dangerous dog breeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act. At least one member of your party must be aged 18 or over.
Our reception is unmanned after 9 p.m., so if you anticipate arriving late, kindly inform us in advance so that we can provide you with relevant information about your accomodation/pitch. We also advise bringing a good quality torch, as parts of the site are unlit.
