The house is situated two miles from North Walsham at White Horse Common. Your holiday will include wonderful countryside walks and plenty of visits to the fabulous Norfolk beaches. The seaside towns of Cromer and Mundesley are very close by as are some wonderful historic houses and gardens such as the National Trust’s Blickling Hall.
 
Canal House offers superb modern comfort together with bucket loads of character. This amazing three-storey building features balconies on all floors with stunning views over the millpond, canal and water meadows. It features much of the wonderful structural woodwork that made up its original character, so there are warm wooden beams throughout together with vaulted ceilings in the bedrooms. It has been sensitively renovated with contemporary touches, a gorgeous kitchen and excellent bathrooms. The state-of-the-art digital entertainment system is a major plus so that you can relax, listen to your favourite soundtracks or watch a movie at the end of a busy day.
 
The water and abundant wildlife are all part of the magic of Canal House. Otters and kingfishers have frequently seen in the nearby water meadows, and the area is a firm favourite with birdwatchers. There is a launch not far from the house for kayak and canoe trips on the canal. The house offers a scenic garden with garden furniture on the patio for alfresco dining. Not only that there is a lovely balcony by the kitchen with a table for two waiting for a romantic glass of wine to watch the sunset.
 
The lower ground floor is home to an atmospheric open plan kitchen diner. The kitchen is modern and perfect for preparing lovely holiday meals. The room is a delight, full of beams and dotted with colour splashes of white and lime green. You can head out to the balcony or to the garden where you can enjoy alfresco dining with a view using the barbecue.
 
Upstairs you will find the luxurious living area with its deep plush sofas centred around a modern wood-burning stove. Wall to wall French doors flood the room with light and open onto a balcony. Tucked away, there is a cute little games corner with table football for fun.
 
The top-level is home to three bedrooms. The master bedroom boasts a kingsize bed, an ensuite shower room and a private balcony. North Walsham is steeped in history dating back to Anglo-Saxon times. It became a centre for weaving along with the nearby village of Worstead. The wealth from this enabled the locals to build St Nicholas Church which dates back to 1330. Its tall tower is the second tallest in Norfolk after Norwich Cathedral. There is a Thursday market and plenty of shops, eateries and historical buildings including Paston College where Horatio Nelson spent his school days between 1768 and 1771. Bacton Woods has 280 acres of ancient woodland, an excellent place to hike and bike.
 
If you want to explore more about Nelson’s links to the area, you can visit Nelson’s birthplace, Burnham Thorpe. A stroll around the village reveals the site of the parsonage where Nelson was born though it was knocked down in 1803. Nelson’s father was rector at All Saint’s Church, and there is a lot of memorabilia in the fabulous village pub. It is definitely the place for a good lunch!

Mundesley is a charming Victorian seaside village not far from Canal House. It is set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with breathtaking coastal walks including the Paston Way and the Norfolk Coast Path. Mundesley became popular with the Victorians after the opening of a railway in 1889. Southrepps Common is an important area for wildlife with deep fragrant woodland and beautiful wildflowers. A fine nine-hole golf course built in 1901 sits on the River Mun hillside with sensational views over the coast and countryside.
 
Cromer, perched on the very edge of the North Norfolk coast, is famous for its delicious Cromer crabs, wide-open beaches, its lighthouse, its proud tradition of RNLI service and its iconic pier. It boasts many small local independent shops and restaurants and feels a little as though you have gone back in time.
 
If you enjoy visiting ancient houses and stunning gardens you can take a trip to Blickling Hall. It is a breathtaking Jacobean mansion in 4600 acres with ancient yew hedges. The garden and historic park are magnificent. There are excellent marked walks as well as cycle routes. It is also a wonderful place to go if you have your dog with you.
 
Close to the house, you will find the very pretty East Ruston Old Vicarage Gardens. There are so many different gardens to see, plus there is an excellent tea room. You will not regret visiting it!

When you can tear yourself away from the stunning Norfolk coastline, it’s time to enjoy the comfort this gorgeous getaway has to offer. With stunning views across fields from the master bedroom, a large lounge, separate dining room and snug, and a hot tub outside, we’re not sure you’ll want to venture far.

Outside there are several spacious areas, a gated front garden with plenty of parking, a courtyard garden featuring a brand new 6 person Canadian Spa Hot Tub with seating area and bbq, as well as a large grassed front garden. It’s location is perfect as is under half a mile to the gorgeous dog friendly Bacton beach as well as a 5 minute walk to the pub, several cafes, village shop and gift shop

On arrival
The front of the property is accessed via a gated entrance, with a large front garden with pond and grassed areas, as well as a long wrap around gravelled driveway – which boasts parking for numerous cars.

Downstairs
When you enter the house, the first thing you notice is how light and roomy the central hallway is. There is a small downstairs WC, decent size galley kitchen, a utility room with plenty of worktop space, and a tiled floor. This leads from the back garden and into the dining room and garage, so the ideal place to enter the house with sandy feet and wet paws after that beach walk.

Dining Room
There is also a family dining room overlooking the front and side garden, with tiled flooring and a large dining table and chairs. This leads to a paved and decked patio area at the side of the house, where the 6 person hot tub is.

Lounge
The lounge is a decent size with huge windows to the front and side with a wood burner and tv with Sky Movies, plenty of leather seating, lamps and heavy duty curtains.

The Downstairs en suite bedroom has a king-size bed, bedside tables, wardrobe, and a roomy en suite bathroom with shower.

Situated in the small village of Honing, and hidden away in a private woodland glade with no one else around to disturb your peace and seclusion - except for an occasional visit by a neighbouring hare, badger or deer. On warm days the glade is alive with butterflies and bees, lizards bask in sunlit openings and overhead you may well see marsh harriers and buzzards enjoying the expansive Norfolk sky.

Out here in the sticks there is very little light pollution, and the dark skies are lit just by the brilliance of countless stars. From your own private parking bay, it's a 200m walk along a grassy pathway - wellies or walking boots may be a good idea on wet days - and the helpful owners, who will greet you on arrival, are very happy to help with your bags. The Horsey Bedroom also features a super kingsize bed with luxury linens and an oversized headboard, subtle grey tones, atmospheric ceiling beams and gorgeous garden vistas. You reach its stylish marbled ensuite shower room through an arch. The Hickling Bedroom is a coral and beige wonder with a twin headboard, massive sash windows that almost reach the floor and a colour co-ordinated ensuite bathroom with a slipper bath and shower attachment. It is a very jolly bedroom suite that is drowned in natural light. Somerton Bedroom enjoys pale aqua and gold tones, another lavish super kingsize bed adorned with beautiful throws and cushions and a fantastic ensuite. Here the slipper bath is absolutely stunning in bright aqua, looking wonderful against the attractive wallpaper. There is also a very large walk in shower at the other end of the bathroom. Thurne Bedroom enjoys beautiful embroidered upholstery and soft furnishings that contrast beautifully with the cream decor and antique furnishings. It is blessed with another stunning ensuite bathroom. Guests enjoy a four poster bed in Barton Bedroom. Its red patterned soft furnishings match the wallpaper and offer a warm and inviting ambience. Barton Bedroom, Upton Bedroom and Ranworth Bedroom share a fabulous family bathroom at the top of the house. Upton Bedroom is totally serene and tranquil and Rainworth offers beautifully made up twin beds. The family bathroom is very pretty with an ornate mirror over the sink and another delightful slipper bath and shower attachment. Whichever bedroom you end up with in this dreamy house, you will sleep like kings on deluxe mattresses and in the finest of linens. The bathrooms come with fluffy towels and bespoke luxury toiletries.

Outside, guests are welcome to roam the twelve acres of parkland and manicured gardens. Ormesby Manor features its own waterway and a very pretty walled garden. There is a wonderfully sociable outdoor dining table for alfresco dining. You will definitely leave Ormesby Manor with some magical memories.

Ormesby Manor enjoys twelve acres of parkland close to the villages of Ormesby and Little Ormesby. It is located 21 miles from Norwich and 7 miles from Great Yarmouth. Close by are the gorgeous beaches of Horsey and Happisburgh as well as the Rollesby Broads, part of the Trinity Broads where you can enjoy happy times on or by the water. The Trinity Broads are three lakes that are found in the north eastern region of the Norfolk Broads. These are land locked and not connected to the main Norfolk Broads waterways. The Trinity Broads are comprised of Ormesby Broad, Rollesby Broad and Filby Broad. Fishing is very popular, there are a number of boardwalks, numerous wonderful waterside restaurant and pub and a sailing club. The Manor is also in easy reach of three excellent farm shops and a farm shop cafe in easy reach. Locals often refer to the area of the main Norfolk Broads as ‘Broadland’. The beautiful Rivers Yare, Ant, Waveney, Chet and Bure meander their leisurely way through Norfolk and Suffolk connecting beautiful inland lakes, creating waterways and wetlands that make up The Norfolk Broads. Wildlife is abundant and conservation has been very successful in reintroducing species such as otters and herons that struggled for some time to survive. To the eastern side of the Norfolk Broads, the sandy beaches and stunning coastline caress the Broads at Horsey Mere with the salt water of the North Sea coming within a hare’s breathe of the the fresh water. Grey and common seals thrive on the shoreline. Guests love watching them at Horsey Gap. Boat hire on the Broads is very popular and an absolute must.

Any visit to the Norfolk Broads really should include a visit to the bustling town of Wroxham, the hub of boating activity and a tourist mecca. It has everything, shopping, attractions, cafes, restaurants and beautiful local walks. Ludham is a quaint, pretty village, close to Womack Staithe offering white washed cottages with thatched roofs and a lovely pub.

The historic village and beach of Happisburgh is definitely worth a visit. It boasts the oldest working lighthouse on the Norfolk Coast and the only independently operated lighthouse in the UK. The lighthouse, built in 1790, is open to the public on occasional Sundays and Bank Holidays during the summer plus private visits can be arranged. The village offers a secluded sandy beach and enjoys a constantly changing coastline.

Norwich is wonderful with exceptional gourmet dining including the vegetarian Benedict’s and Roger Hickmann’s. It boasts cosy pubs including The Fat Cat and St Andrew Brew House where delicious craft beers are made on the premises. Excellent fish and chips is served to the sounds of jazz at the Grosvenor Fish Bar. Norwich Cathedral stands in all its majesty with the ancient beauty of stained glass windows, a booming organ and hushed cloisters. You can enjoy free guided tours and learn how the cathedral survived riot, war, plague and fire. There are peregrines that nest in the cathedral’s spire. The observation point is manned by expert volunteers from the Hawk and Owl Trust so that you can get a good view of them. The cathedral plays host to many reverent and impressive concerts and recitals throughout the year. Norwich also boasts dozens of churches from its medieval heyday, some of which have been repurposed into cultural and exhibition spaces such as the Norwich Arts Centre. The Forum is a huge glass edifice and the home of BBC Norwich as well as being a thriving library and boasting restaurants and a bustling cafe. Norwich open-air market delights shopper with traditional fruit and veg stalls alongside gourmet tea and coffee vendors, artisanal bakers and others.
