Home Log Cabins to Rent

2753 Log Cabins with a nearby beach in the UK

The UK has a huge number of beaches, but for most of us a day on the beach involves a long drive with lots of traffic if the sun is shining. So how nice would it be to stay in a log cabin where the beach is on your doorstep, or at least just over that hill? Log cabins usually have a nice verandah where you can leave out the windbreak, body boards or wetsuits, or just the buckets and spades. After all the kids will want to use them all again tomorrow! The log cabins below have beaches close by.

Little Petherick, Padstow, Cornwall, South West of England

Honeywood is a beautiful and spacious Canadian Log Home with a balcony off the main bedroom affording delightful views across the valley to the church tower of St Issey in the distance. Stylishly furnished and well equipped, Honeywood is a spacious property for large parties and the owners have furnished with families in mind; a sitting area in the kitchen allows children to watch TV while grown-ups have a quiet glass of wine in the lounge! The character of these stunning properties makes them a really special place to stay, and wonderful for atmospheric winter evenings in front of the Cornish stone fireplace. A large decked area in front of the property allows for al fresco dining in the summer. Little Petherick is only a short drive to Padstow which boasts a number of seafood restaurants as well as a picturesque harbour and the ferry to Rock. Within 5 miles are the coastal path, world class surfing beaches and championship golf courses.

Applewood 6

Little Petherick, Padstow, Cornwall, South West of England

Applewood From £428 Availability

Taking inspiration from the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in which it is located this Canadian log home is beautifully decorated and equipped with little touches of luxury including original artwork, Cath Kidston linen, Villeroy Boch crockery and a superking bed. The wooden walls and open beamed ceilings throughout create an open, spacious and relaxing atmosphere - light and airy in the summer and warm and cosy in the winter.  Features include front and rear balconies, countryside views and a large decked area - ideal for eating ‘al fresco'.  The charming village of Little Petherick is only 2 miles from Padstow, home of Rick Stein's famous seafood restaurant, where you will find numerous places to eat, pubs, interesting shops and a working harbour.  Several magnificent sandy, surfing beaches are a 10 minute drive.  Nearby is Mellingey with the Journeyman Restaurant and the Mellingey Mill Willow workshop and just up the road is St. Issey which has two pubs, one of which, the Pickwick Inn, has some lovely views over the Camel estuary.

Creekside 6

Little Petherick, Padstow, Cornwall, South West of England

Creekside From £410 Availability

Creekside is a tastefully furnished Canadian Log Home, in a valley backing onto a tiny creek, only two miles from Padstow and a short drive from several sandy surfing beaches. These log homes are built from solid logs harvested, after more than eighty years' growth, from sustainable forests in Nova Scotia where regulations dictate that only two trees per acre are felled each year. Their design ensures complete protection from the elements which, together with the central heating and living flame gas fired "stove", gives them a lovely warm feeling when it is cold or wet outside. The two balconies and large south facing deck, however, give you all the opportunity you need to take advantage of good weather. Little Petherick is tucked away in a valley formed by a creek which flows into the river Camel and along which follows the Saints' Way, an ancient footpath linking Padstow to Fowey on the South Coast. The historic fishing town of Padstow has a number of seafood restaurants (including the famous Seafood Restaurant owned by Rick Stein) and interesting shops and galleries.

Rostowan Cottage 5

Portscatho, St. Mawes, Cornwall, South West of England

Rostowan Cottage From £500 Availability

Rostowan is situated on the Roseland Peninsula on Cornwall's south coast, which enjoys spectacular sea and rivers walks and views, woodlands and fields, winding lanes, ancient buildings and churches, much of it under the careful ownership of the National Trust.

At the very narrowest point of the peninsula, where Porth Creek and the sea almost cut it in half, Rostowan Villa nestles in a peaceful location with the creek just a stones throw away on one side, and the sea within ear shot on the other. Towan beach itself is just a short stroll down the lane and even in the height of summer is usually very quiet. This Beach is Dog friendly all year round.

The stunning harbour village of Portscatho is within walking distance, which is perfect for enjoying a bite to eat and a drink, or trying your hand at catching crabs off of the harbour wall.

St. Mawes is a larger town and can be accessed by car, or by walking around the creek to Place Manor where it is possible to catch the foot passenger ferry.  From St. Mawes it is possible to catch a number of different ferries to places such as Falmouth and Truro (the capital of Cornwall).
