It also offers a fine choice of bars, restaurants and shops, making it a popular destination and an excellent base for a Highland holiday. Inverness is just 16 miles away and offers a wide choice of restaurants, pubs, museums, theatres and shops. Enter this converted coach house and into the grand high ceilinged lounge/kitchen/diner which shows off the traditional layout along with a mezzanine balcony. On the right is the kitchen area which boasts a breakfast bar perfect for a morning fry up and electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, dishwasher and washing machine. The lounge area is the main focal point with a leather sofa perfectly situated in front of the wood burner and TV which makes for the ideal spot to relax and unwind after a day out exploring the highlands. There are also double sliding doors which head directly out onto the patio. Head up the spiral staircase to the mezzanine level which is great to sit and relax with a book or to play a few games from the choice on offer. To the right of the living area you will find a bunk bedroom to your left and next is the bathroom with bath and WC. Finally at the end of the hall is the double bedroom with en suite shower room and WC. Outside you will find a patio area with seating and views over the local stream. Conveniently placed for exploring both the Black Isle and Inverness, the property is well situated for keen walkers and those who are looking to do a bit of sightseeing. Various nearby attractions include Chanonry Point in Fortrose where you can spot the dolphins leaping out of the water; Glen Affric with a scenic walking route and nature reserve; Loch Ness where you can do some monster hunting for Nessie; and the River Beauly for keen fishermen (permits can be purchased locally in Beauly itself). The entrance to the cottage leads into the open plan kitchen/diner, which contains a small dining table for two guests. The kitchen is well equipped and contains an electric oven and hob, fridge with ice compartment, microwave and washing machine. The lounge features comfortable seating focused around a wood burner, with sliding patio doors that lead out to the garden. There are fantastic views of the Cromarty Firth in the distance, with open farmland surrounding the picture perfect scenery. The double bedroom is spacious and contains a ceiling at roof height, with skylights that let in plenty of natural light. The shower room with shower and WC is located next to the bedroom. The lawned garden outside is not enclosed but is private and of a good size. There is garden furniture on a small patio area where you can relax and enjoy the sunshine. The property is located beside farmland, where sheep are kept at various times throughout the year. The neighbouring property that is located behind the cottage is the owners' home, and guests have their own designated gravel parking area near the entrance door.

This large holiday home is a magnificent, imposing Baronial mansion house, built-in 1890s, surrounded by mature woodland with access to a delightful river walk.

The house faces northeast and has an open view across fields, whilst the views from the drawing-room, and dining room, as well as the two main bedrooms, look east/south-east towards the Cromarty Firth.
 The house is divided into three sections with the main section available for letting on a self-catering basis for 10 adults.

The property has retained much of its historical charm, including turrets, parapets and decor that incorporates antique furnishings with the comforts of modern day living.

The entrance opens up into the great hall, which boasts a grand  piano and a large open fire. Moving through to the formal drawing room you'll find a comfortable seating area which is great for socializing.
 To the other side of the Hall can be found the grand dining room with a large gas fuelled log-fire and a large formal dining table to seat everyone.

More entertainment rooms include the TV lounge and a library bar which, in addition to the cocktail bar with fridge has a full-sized snooker table, darts board and a wide variety of books.  In addition there is an equipped gym with sauna and shower. There is also a delightfully bright and elegant music room housing a Bechstein grand piano ( key on request), electric organ and other musical instruments. The walls of the room carry the portriats and pictures of the past Lairds of the Dalmore Estate.  

If you want to cook up a banquet without any hassle, the spacious well-equipped kitchen has a gas cooker and oven, a microwave, twin fridge/freezers, wine fridge and a dishwasher.
 
There is long breakfast table with seating for eight guests for relaxed dining in front the wood burning stove. Adjacent is a laundry room with washing machine and drier.  Downstairs between the Hall and the dining room you'll also find the Arabian styled guest toilet.

Up the grand staircase onto the galleried landing there are five bedrooms, all with large windows allowing light to flood in. The first is an impressive master bedroom with a comfortable four-poster bed, an en-suite bathroom with a tiled walk in bath with shower over and a WC, and an en-suite dressing room.

Three more beautifully furnished bedrooms have double four-poster beds, one with an en-suite bathroom with a bath with a shower attachment, and another with en-suite  shower and a WC. The third four-poster room shares the bathroom with the family room having access from the corridor.

The family room includes a queen size four-poster bed, two small beds for children and one cot for an infant. This bedroom boasts a wonderful en-suite family bathroom including a bath with a shower over and a WC. There is good wi-fi and bluetooth speakers in most rooms.

In addition larger groups may wish to use an additional private suite of two double bedrooms with shared shower/ WC room. Each bedroom is available for weekly rental with additional payment.

Private lawns surround this property and front of the dining room there is a sun terrace with outdoor furniture and tables and adjacent stands a covered pergola with gas fired BBQ and seating for 6.  

The garden features a children's play area with play equipment including a zip wire to keep them entertained.  There is also badminton and croquet for the slightly older guests. There is access to the surrounding woods with private steps down to the river offering delightful riverside walks  to the town , or the sea or the nearby eponymous distillery. Adjacent to the top of the steps is a viewpoint with seating offering a wonderful river view.

Set within 9 acres of grounds, including a large lawned area to the front and side and enclosed by woodlands. Access if the by the main drive, whilst the side drive is used by the housekeeper and residents of the other apartment. There is adequate parking for 6 cars.

It is located 20 miles north-west of Inverness, on the outskirts of Alness. There is a supermarket, shops and pubs in the village whilst Inverness have a greater range available. Ross-shire is known for its mild dry climate compared to the rest of Scotland. Dolphin watching is one of the main attractions of the area and can be seen in the Cromarty Firth, at Chanonry Point or in a Dolphin Watch boat.

Ronaldsay is a beautifully refurbished log cabin sitting high in the private Seaview Grazings estate, Strontian, with stunning views down Loch Sunart. The area around Strontian is an outdoors-lovers paradise, with beautiful beaches and numerous walks. The cabin sits on a private site, with no other cabins overlooking it. The nearest pub and shop are a 5 min walk, with the village centre being another 5 min along the road.

Ronaldsay features extensive living space, with two sitting areas each with WiFi and large flat-screen TVs. Each TV has both Freesat installed and there are two Blu-Ray players each with internet capability for all standard catch-up services (BBC iPlayer etc). The main lounge has a wood burning stove with views over Loch Sunart to the mountains, while to the rear there is an open-plan kitchen/dining/living area. The rear living-room has views south through large french doors over the loch and mountains.

There are three bedrooms, with the south bedroom having a king-size bed and views south across the loch. The second bedroom has a double bed, with views to the west down Loch Sunart, and the smallest bedroom has a single bed.

The kitchen is well equipped, having a dishwasher and large fridge/freezer. There is also a separate utility room. There are two toilets - one of which includes a large shower cubicle. Hot water is provided through a thermal store, giving fantastic mains-pressure showers.

There are two decks, one each at the front and the rear.

The cabin has been refurbished to a high standard, both internally and externally. It has been fully insulated and re-clad externally, making it very cosy in the winter. It has also been re-roofed, again with good insulation levels, and two large roof windows have been installed, filling the rooms with plenty of natural light.

NOTE: Ronaldsay sits on an elevated site on a fairly steep hill. This means that there are risks around the garden for very young children, who would have to be kept closely supervised.

Located in Acharacle, this cabin is in a rural area and near the beach. Ardnamurchan Lighthouse and Glenfinnan Museum are local landmarks, and some of the area's attractions include Wings Over Mull and Ardchattan Priory Garden. Scuba diving and sailing offer great chances to get out on the surrounding water, or you can seek out an adventure with mountain biking and hiking nearby.
